It's no secret, we all know that bright colors look good on black and brown girls. Bright colors are festive, they light up a room, they make your skin glow, they're youthful, fun and overall seem to brighten up your day. Well Essence Magazine did a cute colorful editorial featuring model Sessilee Lopez wearing soft colorful clothes that can be worn in the office, for an early dinner, a conservative date, going to brunch, hanging out with friends or just overall day wear. I'm madly in love with the purple suit, it's feminine, it's flirty, it's professional and it can be worn during different seasons. I can't say that this is one of my top favorite editorials, but it's mighty purity.  Ladies what do you think? Would you wear any of these looks?
That color and her pumps!!!!
I'm not a purple fan but with this outfit I might have to reconsider
This dress could have been a tad bit longer. loving the color combo though
I'm taking a "back seat" on this one.
She better werk (minus the shoes)!!!!!
That's just cute.

I don't know what's more beautiful; the model's skin and features or the fabulously colorful clothes.

Ok I'm speechless, months back I swore that my favorite editorial was called "The Primitive Terrain" and then I stumbled upon this. Elle Brasil created a look that's so spectacular that I have no words. When I look at the model Ana Bela Santos, I realized a few things; Black women are beautiful, brown and dark skin is sexy as hell and we need to see more images like these representing us, the way other women get represented. Ana's skin, eyes, lips, features and swag made the clothes, colors and jewelry pop like a rouge firecracker.!!!! Ana you killed it girl!!!
When its all said and done this is my favorite editorial, I doubt anything can top this. Well, I did say that about the other editorial. :)  Ok, enough talking. Check Ana out.

Her eye makeup though.

She's the epitome of black beauty.
love it!!! I would rock this.

girl give me thoese heels!!!

Saucy!!!!

Killing it!!!

Feminine and flirty, perfect for spring.

Her whole look is so bad zzz!!!

So ladies, which look is your favorite?

Black beauty has always been muted. For many years it has always been 'sweapt under the rug", hidden, downplayed or just not displayed. From Africa to Brazil and every country in between black women have the same exoticism, feminism, and sex appeal that other groups of women have.So why, then, have black women been reduced to " booty shaking whores, big fat mammies, loud manly woman" etc.. ? This trend has been going on for far too long. Growing up, and even now, i see movies and pictures that depict us from other people's perspective of how we're suppose to be, rather then the way we truely are.So i made a conscious choice to depict us in our true form. For the next few posts, I will discuss skin care and mental health issues that pertain to black women. It's up to us to take care of ourselves, both mentally and physically, which entails keeping our hair nice, our skin clean, our bodies in shape and overall our minds healthy. Despite the way we are sometimes portrayed in the media, we know who we are and how sexy we really look. My message to black women all over the world is "Love theyself, Love thy sister, and most importantly, Love thy soul."
Here's a poem:
" BLACK BEAUTY
BLACK BEAUTY IS THE BLACK WOMAN, IN EVERY ASPECT OF THE WORD. DESPITE ALL THE NEGATIVITY THAT YOU’VE HEARD.
WE ARE THE FIBER THAT KEEPS OUR FAMILY TOGETHER. WE ARE THE FOUNDATION FOR OUR CHILDREN’S EVERY ENDEAVOR.
WE ARE GRACEFUL CREATURES, PRESERVED BY NATURE SINCE THE BEGINNING OF TIME & NOT EVEN AGE CAN DISTURB OUR BALANCE OF LINES SO PERFECTLY DEFINED.
BLACK BEAUTY IS THE BLACK WOMAN BEYOND A SHADOW OF A DOUBT. IF YOU LOOK, LISTEN, & LEARN, YOU WILL KNOW WHAT WE’RE ALL ABOUT. WE ARE LIVING JEWELS, INSIDE & OUT
."
